Marvin is a chemist with over 40 years experience, all in the rubber industry. Much of the time was spent with the Dunlop (tire) Research Centre in the Greater Toronto Area. Areas of work were analytical, organic synthesis, polymerization, rubber compounding, and testing.

After the Dunlop Research Centre he was with a Dunlop Division, a manufacturer of rubber roofing membranes, as Chief Development chemist. After that he was the technical & development manager with a custom mixer/moulder. After three job losses, due to closures, in 5 years he opened his own research and development facility that he has operated since 1992.

Besides consulting and his usual development work with companies that market products made from virgin materials, a major interest is the recycling of scrap rubber. Marvin is quite involved with the Rubber Division, ACS, and the Rubber Recycling Topical Group to promote the use of recycled rubber. He has made many presentations based on his work and written articles in Rubber World, Rubber Chemistry & Technology, as well as a chapter in a Rubber Recycling book published by CRC Taylor & Francis Group.

Marvin is married, has two sons, and is very interested in gardening.
