Glenn Maidment, Ontario Ministry of the Environment

Glenn Maidment is a 30-year veteran of the rubber
industry, having started his career in Kitchener Ontario, working
for a major tire company. Following progressively senior positions
in Sales and Marketing, in 1991 Glenn moved to The Rubber Association
of Canada as Director of Operations.
In July 2001, Mr. Maidment was appointed
President. In his current role, he manages the overall affairs
of the trade association, acts as the industry's chief spokesman,
and develops and implements their strategic direction in concert
with the Associations's Board of Directors.
He represents Canada on the International Standards Organization
technical committee on tires, as well as working with both Federal
and Provincial authorities on all matters facing the rubber industry.
In addition, he is currently Chair of Ontario Tire Stewardship.
