John J. Amato, P.E., President, JJA Sports, Westford, MA. A registered professional engineer, Mr. Amato has specialized in the planning and design of outdoor athletic facilities since 1991. He has designed approximately 50 competition track and field venues and over 60 synthetic surface sports fields. Mr. Amato received his BS degree in Civil Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Mr. Amato has served on the Board of Directors for the Synthetic Turf Council since 2003. During his career Mr. Amato has held leadership positions on several ASTM F08 Sports Surfacing Subcommittees and Task Groups. Currently he Chairs ASTM F 08.65–Ground Rubber Testing Methods.
